Although the drop in temp is difficult to deal with, fall is one of my favorite seasons to enjoy in Minnesota! Our activity of choice shifts from lake-oriented fun to harvest related fun!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to head out to one of the many pumpkin patches our great state has to offer. This experience was made even more meaningful by bringing along my mom and my 3 1/2 year old nephew! If you can find a child to experience fall with, these pumpkin patches/corn mazes/petting zoos/hayrides, are even more enjoyable! I may even add this to my “Feel Like a Kid Again” list!

Here a pic from my weekend adventure at 4R Ranch just outside Avon, MN.

Also, this weekend is Stillwater’s Harvest Fest, a party close to my heart, as my family & friends grow giant pumpkins each year and some enter their pumpkins into the weigh-off which happens this Saturday, October 10! http://www.harvestfeststillwater.com/

Happy fall and happy travels!

Start a Minnesota Traveler Journal

Do you love the destinations we visit on the show? Do you have BIG ideas as to your next adventure WHILE you’re watching, only to forget a day or two later when you get back into the rhythm of life?

Start a journal!

Of course you’ll want to write down the places we visit that appeal to you most, their city and other important information we cover.

Write down restaurant names and the dishes we feature – these are often house specialties and are what the restaurant is “known” for (i.e. they are awesome!). I love food, so this is an important part of travel for me!

While watching the show, jot down the names of the people we interview – you can then more easily chat up owners, managers, etc when you visit their establishments and get a better inside scoop!

Happy Travels!
